So my spirit was up when I got back here; I brought all that glow and sunshine back, but my skin was not so much! The cold temperatures just sucked the moisture right out of my skin. I had dry patches and my skin was dehydrated and so tight. Bottom line, no more glowing skin.
So, I said no way! I will my glow back by starting my winter skin care routine now -
I mean even nature prepares itself for winter. In Fall, the trees are so beautiful changing from green, yellow, and red. But these changes in color really mean that the trees are requiring less water to survive. Then in winter, the trees shade their leaves; all the water in the soil is not reserved to feed the roots and guarantee survival. Ok, now you are probably thinking what's up with the trees...
Well , all of these changes are nature's way to prepare itself for the cold moisture sucking temperatures and adapt and we need to do the same with our skin.
Beautiful, we need to twick our skincare routine to keep a glowing beautiful skin during winter months.
This winter, my skincare goals are very simple.
* Avoid dry patches
* Get and keep a glowing skin
* Hydrate my skin to the max, so my skin stays soft
* Add a daily dose of anti-aging agents on my skin.
I don't want to be overwhelmed by this process; So, it will be a 3 step process to twick my skin care routine for now.
I bet you are also trying to keep your skin hydrated, soft, glowing this winter, so here is my simple three step process.
Step 1. If not already done, add a toner or facial mist to your skincare routine.
This is a simple but effective way to add more hydration to your skin. Hydrating your skin is giving it more water to it can remain plump. Of course, we all need to drink more water to nourish our skin from within, and we also need to replace the moisture that is sucked out of our skin by the cold weather by using facial mists or toners. It is best to apply toners or facial mistakes after before a facial serum or before your moisturizer.
I have two favorite natural toners.
The Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water facial mist. This facial is so refreshing. It replenishes my skin hydration after I use my cleanser. My skin is so soft and moisturized after I apply it. It also has this evenly rose scent. Read more about it here!
My second favorite timer is the Siams-seas facial mist. This facial mist is made with a combination of organic whole plant aloe vera and cooling botanical water. This is a serious pick-me up facial mist. If I feel my sink tight or irritated. I just spray it over my face and rub it in all over, including rubbing it over my neck. Let's not forget our necks.
Hum... You need it for sure in the winter. Why do you need a serum in your skincare routine? Moisturizers, facial mist and toners have water in them; that means they contain less essence of the ingredients.
Serums on the over hand, oh yes, they are highly concentrated in potent ingredients. You get the pure botanical stuff with serums. Potent ingredients to deliver the maximum impact. Two types of serums here: liquid form and concentrated form. My two favorites are anti-aging and nourishing.
The Honua Skincare | Youth Serum| is liquid. It is just amazzzing!! If you want to keep your glow this winter, you got to use this serum. Read more about it here.
| The Super Blend | pressed serum concentrated from Maya Chia has fantastic anti-aging properties. This one cost a little bit, but hear me, it is so worth it. This natural serum combines effective antioxidant astaxanthin and co-enzyme Q10 to increase skin's elasticity and radiance. Read all about it here -
Step 3: Get a natural softening masks!
Yes, once or twice a month, boost your skin elasticity with masks. Two natural masks that I love are the |Matcha Tea & Chamomile| from Plant Apothecary and
|Blossoming Revelation Mask - Honey Bee| from Good Medicine Beauty Lab.
The Plant Apothecary mask is vegan makes that is great of you have oily or combination skin. The Kaolin clay and matcha green tea actually regulates sebum production while chamomile soothes and softens the skin. and my skin is glowing and so soft after I use it. I found that this mask works with my skin instead of against it.
If you have dry or aging skin, you will love the Blossoming Revelation Mask - Honey Bee! This mask is perfect for deep hydration. There is magic in this mask y'all. I love love this mask. I use it once a week, apply it on my dump face, and it leaves my skin plump, smooth, and glowing.
These tips are all about adding more hydration in your skincare routine this winter. I hope they will help you!
