So, in this blog post, I share with you all that I learned about moisturizing the natural way!!
Different Types Of Natural Moisturizers
There are mainly four different types of natural moisturizers: gels, lotions, creams, and ointments. Even though moisturizers can be divided into these four categories, you need to keep in mind that they are all a mix of water and lipids (fat).
There are 6 types of natural moisturizers
Gels are water-based lotions that are lightweight. They tend to be the least greasy and the lightest type of moisturizers. They easily absorb into skin and are usually a mixture of ingredients that include a liquid lipid base, alcohol, and water.
As soon as you apply the gel on your face, you will immediately feel a cool and refreshing sensation since gels tend to evaporate quickly. Gel moisturizers work well with sensitive skin and acne prone skin.
#2: Oil-free moisturizers
These moisturizers are similar to gel moisturizers. They are lightweight and do not clog the pores; they are generally non-comedogenic. They work great for acne-prone and blemish-prone skin.
#3: Facial oils or serums
You might not think facial oils and serums should be included here, but they are lightweight and packed with moisturizing ingredients. They work great for mature skin and sensitive skin. Facial serum are best for any types of skin; they are formulated to target a specific skin concern: skin brightening, aging sign concerns, and more. They are a mix of high quality oils and extracts that have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and hydrating properties. The molecules of facial serum have smaller molecules to deeply penetrate the skin.
Facial oils are different than facial moisturizers; they are made from various natural oils. The molecules in facial oils are bigger than those in facial serums, so they stay at the top layers of the skin to moisturize, balance, and protect our skin. These oils are super effective because they are easily recognized by the skin; they mimic our skin’s natural sebum production.
