Organic Soap for Dry Skin - Osmia Organics Lavender and Shea Soap

I love soaps but I have dry skin on my body. So, I have tried many types and brands of soaps to find which ones are gentle and moisturizing for dry skin.

This organic soap from Osmia Organics has the subtle scent of lavender, not the fake medicinal-like lavender scent. It came in a very cute package and smells amazing. It is so gentle on my skin and has a creamy lather in the shower; this soap leaves my skin soft.

This organic soap is perfect for people like me who have dry skin. It's so important to use organic soaps  that do not strip away the skin natural oils during fall and winter if you have dry skin.

Skin natural oils protect our skin from loosing its moisture. Harsh chemical soaps (full of toxic chemicals) actually strip away our skin natural oils; this makes dry skin even worse.

Dry skin becomes so itchy and uncomfortable during Fall and Winter. It is very important to use organic soaps that are very gentle on the skin. These soaps should also be moisturizing and bring protective oils  to our skin.

Ingrdients: saponified oils/butters of olea europaea (olive)*, butyrospermum parkii (shea)*, and cocos nucifera (coconut)*, coconut milk*, illite (french green) clay, spinacia oleracea (spinach) powder*, proprietary blend of essential oils*, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) antioxidant*, GMO-free vitamin E oil
*certified organic

FDA Bans Antibacterial Soaps Containing Triclosan - Three Natural Triclosan-free Soaps Safe to Use.

The problem with antibacterial Soap?
After years of raising concerns from public health experts,  the FDA finally banned 19 chemicals contained in antibacterial soaps and gave companies one year to remove these chemicals from their products. The FDA based its decision "on data that shows these chemicals do more health harm in the long term than good. 40% of antibacterial liquid and bar soaps contain these chemicals. Studies show that the banned chemicals, including triclosan and tricloraban - the most popular chemicals used in antibacterial soaps- might be linked to hormone disruption and bacteria resistance.

What are the alternatives?

The three natural anti-microbial below are effective and affordable for the whole family; they do not contain triclosan or tricloraban.  I consider them as the basics for anti-microbial soaps.
1. Dr. Bronner's Organic Fair Trade Shikakai Hand Soap. Organic Anti-Microbial Soap. Shop here.
2. Clean Well - Antibacterial Foaming Soap Orange Vanilla. Shop here.
3.Vi-Tae -Certified Organic ANTIBACTERIAL Soap. Shop here.

Thinking About Transitioning to Natural Deodorants?

3/17/2016

Natural deodorants can be tricky to add to a natural skin care regiment. I gave up so many time when transitioning to natural antiperspirants. I had to find out why it took to transition to natural deodorants. There is a detoxifying stage in transitioning to natural deodorants.

Detoxifying stage?

The transition to natural deodorants includes a detoxifying stage. Why detox? There is a build up of toxins created by years of using antiperspirants that need to be cleared up. Your sweat glands need to readjust before functioning properly. This detoxifying and adaptation phase depends on each individual; it can take up to a month, according to Dr. Hauschka.

Below are few natural deodorants that worked for me. There are both aluminum, petroleum, and paraben free.
The  deodorant in a jar below is from Primal Pit Paste; it  is a paste deodorant. Paste deodorants are a bit different, so it takes a little to get used to them. To use:  just take a small amount of the paste on  clean dry  fingers and apply under the armpits. This paste deodorant still works  great even after a long day. Remove all hair under the armpits to use this deodorant. Click here to shop.
