They also are excellent for holding back excess oily shine and leaving you with a shine-free complexion. They also work great if the weather is humid because this foundation is designed to last all day long.
On the other side, these types of foundations can exaggerate flaky skin or wrinkles if the finish is too dry. If you have combination or oily skin with wrinkles, make sure to apply a light layer of moisturizer or a serum underneath; it might reduce the mattifying effect but it will keep the foundation from seating in fine lines.

If you follow me on social media, you know that I have been on the hunt for natural/organic cosmetics that are inclusive. While regular cosmetics have several options for brown and dark skin ladies, the green beauty world is slowly getting there. Very slowly, I have to say. But there are many brands that are doing a great job at creating makeup for people of all shades.
Today, I want to explore concealers. Over the years, I tried more than 20 concealers and gave a lot of them away because they were not a match. But, what a girl to do without a good concealer? I had to continue the hunt. Since we are talking about concealer, let’s say this: I am all about skin care before makeup. If our skin is healthy and can stand by itself, we need less makeup to cover it. I am just saying: having a great skin care routine to deal with dark circles goes a long way. Between using DIY oils and applying natural eye creams, my concealer is now a must have in my makeup bag but don’t have to always put it on kind of thing.
Anyway, when it comes to makeup, I need 3 high performing natural products. A great foundation, a volume/high definition mascara, and a full coverage concealer. I need my concealer. We all need a concealer and a good eye cream for those pesky dark circles. The skin around our eyes is finer that the skin on our body, so foundations do not provide enough coverage.
My skin tone is dark skin with red undertone What was I looking for in my concealer?
If you are worried about letting go your Nars or MAC concealers. Girl, it is time to LET GO. There are great safe options in the green beauty community that are perfect for you.
I don’t wear makeup every day, but when I do, a great mascara and a good foundation are essential for a great makeup look. And, as a green beauty lover… hum.. beauty junkie, I tried many natural mascaras to find the best ones. I also read lots of reviews before choosing the mascaras to test. I settled on 6 natural mascaras. I know that most of us want to wear mascaras that give us volume and long lashes; But I use mascara in different ways. I love natural looking makeup. For work, I cannot wear a super voluminous, I need a subtle mascara that gives me a little bit of volume. When going out, I need that volume and wow factor. I also have sensitive eyes, so I need a great mascara for sensitive skin. Because, I have sensitive eyes, I don’t wear lashes, so I need lengthening mascaras too. Let’s talk mascara wand! Why? The shape of the wand of your mascara is as important of as the formula and texture of your mascara. Best Natural Mascara for Sensitive Skin
I have 2 top favorite mascaras: The 100% Pure Maracuja Mascara and the Fitglow Beauty Goodlash + Mascara. My #1 natural mascara is the 100% Pure Maracuja Mascara. This is a natural, vegan, and gluten free mascara is fruit pigmented. It gives me the perfect length and volume. No smudges, no clump, no flakes, and it stays on all day long without itchy eyes. I have been using it for years and I love it. The ingredients include maracuja oil, lash conditioning vitamins, and pigments of tea, cocoa, and coffee. Maracuja oil has amazing anti-inflammatory properties. It is super light oil, so it does not sit heavily on your lashes or leave them greasy. My #2 favorite mascara is the Fitglow Beauty Goodlash + Mascara. This is a recent addition to my mascara collection and I just love it. It gives me that super volume without any clump or heaviness. It is so lightweight to wear. It also performs like regular mascara. Also, Fitglow is a skincare cosmetics brand. All their natural cosmetics contain natural ingredients to take care of the skin. This mascara helps my lashes get stronger and with some growth. This mascara is formulated with vegetable collagen and horsetail plant to strengthen lashes and make them healthier.
In the green beauty world, there is always this question about BB and CC creams. Are they here to stay or is it a hype? If you are on the go, BB and CC creams are super multi-taskers you want in your makeup bag.
What are BB and CC creams? With BB and CC creams you use one makeup product instead of three or four. These creams can be all-in-one moisturizer, concealer, foundation and sometimes sunscreen. Talking about time savers! There are also DD and EE creams, but BB and CC creams are made to give you a natural makeup look and they are the most popular types. But there is a difference between BB and CC creams?
I am always looking for inclusive green beauty makeup brands. Initially, this post started on a negative note about inclusion in the green beauty makeup world, but I decided to focus on inclusive green beauty brands.
Do you know inclusive natural makeup brands not included in this post? Let me know in the comments. First, my favorite natural foundation is FitGlow Beauty | Vita-Active, VF 6.5 |. It is my perfect match. My skin tone is chocolate brown with warm undertones. I used to mix foundations to find my match; with FitGlow Beauty, it feels so good to know that I won't look ashy or too dark. Perfect match. If your skin tone is Caramel/Toffee, their V6 shade should be a great fit. . Other natural foundations that are great fit.
Second, 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented® Healthy Foundation: their shade |Mousse and Cacao | (maybe the toffee if you are light shade) are great options. Their shade Cacao is the closest to my skin tone. But, it is just a 0.5 shade lighter.
