I know that most of us want to wear mascaras that give us volume and long lashes; But I use mascara in different ways. I love natural looking makeup. For work, I cannot wear a super voluminous, I need a subtle mascara that gives me a little bit of volume. When going out, I need that volume and wow factor. I also have sensitive eyes, so I need a great mascara for sensitive skin. Because, I have sensitive eyes, I don’t wear lashes, so I need lengthening mascaras too.
Let’s talk mascara wand!
Why? The shape of the wand of your mascara is as important of as the formula and texture of your mascara.
I have 2 top favorite mascaras: The 100% Pure Maracuja Mascara and the Fitglow Beauty Goodlash + Mascara.
My #1 natural mascara is the 100% Pure Maracuja Mascara. This is a natural, vegan, and gluten free mascara is fruit pigmented. It gives me the perfect length and volume. No smudges, no clump, no flakes, and it stays on all day long without itchy eyes. I have been using it for years and I love it. The ingredients include maracuja oil, lash conditioning vitamins, and pigments of tea, cocoa, and coffee. Maracuja oil has amazing anti-inflammatory properties. It is super light oil, so it does not sit heavily on your lashes or leave them greasy.
My #2 favorite mascara is the Fitglow Beauty Goodlash + Mascara. This is a recent addition to my mascara collection and I just love it. It gives me that super volume without any clump or heaviness. It is so lightweight to wear. It also performs like regular mascara. Also, Fitglow is a skincare cosmetics brand. All their natural cosmetics contain natural ingredients to take care of the skin. This mascara helps my lashes get stronger and with some growth. This mascara is formulated with vegetable collagen and horsetail plant to strengthen lashes and make them healthier.
#4 is the Pure Anada black mascara. This mascara is PH balanced for the eyes, so it does not burn or sting the eyes. It gives a good length and volume, but it can clump. The first coat gives me a natural look and additional coat gives me a fuller look. Still without being too much. I love it for everyday wear. The wand is a little small though. Another reason I love this mascara is that it strengthens my lashes over time.
#5 The Juice Beauty Phyto-pigments Ultra natural mascara. I am on the fence with this mascara because it gives me this super nice natural look, but it flakes. It also dries super fast which makes it even more flaky when I try to apply the second coat. But this is a great day wear mascara. It lengthens my lashes and the s-shaped wand gives me an intense eye without looking overdone. The mascara is also super lightweight. The mascara is made with aloe vera.
My #6 pick is ILia Beauty Limitless Lash Mascara. Wow, I love this mascara. With sensitive eyes, it is so difficult to find false lashes without having an irritating sensation all day long. This mascara makes me feel like I have lashes on. It lengthens my eyelashes and gives them great definition. It doesn't clump, flake, or smudge. It give me this dramatic look. It makes it easy to add more coats and get more volume. It is also super lightweight and work so well for daily wear. If you use to wear Lancome mascara Définicils, this is a perfect clean swap. I love the dual-sided brush. This type of brushes make for better lash separation. I love the dramatic look that is not overdone.
How did I apply? I put on the first coat and let it dry. It takes only few seconds. Then, I come my lashes with the wand to add more separation and definition to my lashes. Then, I applied a second coat for a more voluminous look. You can easily go up to three coats with this mascara. For more tips on how to apply mascara - Download my 8 tips and tricks!
