I use many different oils and butter for my dry skin and coconut butter and oil work wonders. Why is coconut butter so great for dry skin?
Coconut oil and butter are mainly made of fatty acids and triglycerides. Triglycerides are the main components in our body natural oils. Triglycerides and fatty acids are skin softeners; they help the skin barrier by preventing excess moisture loss.
Coconut oil is also rich in proteins; it regenerates and restores the skin. It contains vitamin E, which promotes healthy skin growth, skin repairs, and is anti-bacterial according to Organic Facts.
It is important to not apply too much coconut oil on your skin. I read articles about why some people stopped using coconut oil. I think it is important to understand how natural and organic ingredients we put on our skin work. Coconut oil and butter quickly saturate the skin; this is one of the reason they are so efficient. Do not use too much coconut butter, according to organic facts the skin can only absorb a certain amount of oil. If you use too much coconut oil, the skin does not absorb it any more and your skin will feel greasy.
I recently made a very simple lip balm with coconut butter for my extra dry lips and I am sharing it with you below. I have been searching for the right lip balm for a while; my lips are so dry. EOS lip balms were my favorite for a while but my lips are all dry after 1 to 2 hours of using them, so I decided to create this lip balm.
