Fall is so beautiful; nature is transforming under our eyes with beautiful colors. We overlook the fact that beautiful autumn also brings dry air and cooler temperatures. Like nature, our skin changes during fall; our skin becomes rough, dry, dehydrated, and dull. It is very important to switch our organic skin care routine to have a beautiful and glowing skin during fall.
I put together this guide to help us adjust our skin care routine during the fall. Read on for the five tips to help us tweak our natural and organic skin care routine for fall.
Tip #1. Switch to an Heavier Daily Moisturizer
We tend to use lightweight moisturizers during the summer. But, in cooler temperatures, our skin needs moisturizers that are more protective. Heavier moisturizers will hydrate our skin and prevent skin moisture loss; Moisture loss creates dry and flaky skin. What heavier moisturizers to choose? If you're using a gel moisturizer, switch to an organic lotion moisturizer. Acure Organics has thicker natural and organic day creams that provide great protection. This brand has day creams tailored for dry skin, sensitive skin, and oily skin. I love their day creams; they quickly sink and moisturize my skin without leaving it greasy; my skin always feels smooth and soft. Click here to shop Acure organics.
Treatment oils are another option if you do not want to change your facial moisturizer. You simply put some facial moisturizer in the palm of your hands and mix in few drops of the treatment oil. This will add additional protective layer to your skin. Indie Lee Moisturizing oil and Bee Naturals are great organic treatment oils that mix well with other products.
Indie Lee Moisturizing oil works great for dry and sensitive skin. This treatment oil is made with a blend of lavender and chamomile to soothe and deeply hydrate skin. You can also use this oil as a night oil treatment.
Bee Naturals is a oil-free moisturizer that is excellent for combination, oily, or acne-prone skin. It is made with witch hazel extract, honey, and tea tree oil. It nourishes, softens, and moisturizes the skin without clogging the pores.

Tip #2. Use Toners to Boost Skin Hydration
Toners are so important in a skin care routine during cool and dry weather. Toners add additional moisture to the skin. We should use alcohol-free toners to avoid drying the skin during fall.
How to Use Toners? After cleansing, wipe in your toners, and immediately apply your moisturizer to lock in the moisture. This will lock in moisture in the skin.
There are many organic and natural toners that work miracle. The Thayers Facial Toner. This facial toner is an all-natural, non-drying, and paraben-free. It is so gentle on my skin and is very good for sensitive skin. Another alcohol-free and non-drying toner to have in your routine this fall is S.W. Basics balances the skin and minimized breakouts. HollyBeth Organics is a great a rose geranium facial toner that work well on dry skin. This toner USDA organic certified; it soothes the skin and draw moisture to the skin.

Tip #3. Get Your Scrub On
Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!! Exfoliation is a must during cooler temperatures. It brightens skin complexion by getting rid of flaky skin. It also promotes silky and smooth skin. I suggest exfoliating from head to toe once or twice a week; exfoliating will remove old tired, flaky, and dull skin cells and promote new plumper skin cells. It helps to reduce breakouts but releasing oils that are trapped in pores. Don't have a facial scrub for fall? Try the certified organic HolleyBeth Organics, Grits and Honey Scrub. This is a simple scrub with great results. It smooths and nourishes the skin with its honey content. What I love about it? You can control the scrubbing by the pressure you apply. Always mix this scrub before using it. Switch to oil-based sugar body scrubs; they will moisturize your skin while they are scrubbing away tired, flaky, and dull skin cells.
One of my favorite oil-based scrub is 100% Pure: All Natural and Organic, Body Scrub - Coconut; this scrub smells wonderful and it is ultra-moisturizing. It is so gentle on my skin and always leaves it silky soft. If you have cellulite like me, BaeBody Arabica Coffee Scrub will be your best friend. It makes my thighs look great. Getting rid of cellulite requires consistent scrubbing and cool weather gives us enough time to smooth this cellulite away before we breakout skirts and swim suits for summer.

Tip #4. Stock Up on Body Moisturizers and Lip Balms
In summer, we use lighter body moisturizers, but, we should not skip body and lip moisturizers during fall. We are preparing our skin for the harsh cold of winter. Body and lip moisturizers will keep our skin healthy, smooth and soft. Cooler temperatures come with flaky and dry skin because we loose so much moisture. Apply body moisturizers right after your shower; they will hydrate your skin even more. Our skin pores are more open after showering; moisturizers penetrate skin easily to create protective barrier against skin moisture loss. The Acure Organics ultra-hydrating body lotion is great for dry and normal skin. It is made with natural and organic ingredients, including cacao butter. It has no scent and sinks immediately in the skin and keep it moisturized.
Our lips can get cracked and dry during fall; they also require a lot more moisturizing during cooler weather, they can. My lips can get very dry and cracked, so I use lip balms that are made with honey. We should apply lip balms often, so I always go lip balms packs. My favorite natural or organic lip balms packs are: Burt's Bees- Superfruit lip balms, Beauty by Earth - Vanilla beans and honey lip balms, Henné Organics - Luxury Lip Balm. All those lip balms are so moisturizing; they keep my lips soft for hours.

Tip#5. Stay Hydrate - This is So Important!
Beautiful skin also comes from what we eat and drink. Some of the skin moisture comes from the water we drink. “Without adequate water intake, skin appears duller, and wrinkles and pores more prominent.” That may be because water plumps up the skin, causing wrinkles and pores to, more or less, get filled in. What’s more, a variety of structures in the skin that support collagen require water to work effectively, says Julius Few, M.D., director of The Few Institute and clinical professor of plastic surgery at the University of Chicago. Bonus: When skin is hydrated, plump, and elastic, it’s less likely to crack and let in external particles that can cause irritations and blemishes. It is critical to dry plenty of water if we want a glowing and healthy skin. Keep water by your side at all time. I usually drink a full glass of water as soon as I wake up in the morning. I also have water at my desk.
Fall will bring cooler temperatures that dry our skin; by following these five tips, we will have a great looking skin during fall.
