Want to make your own natural moisturizing lip balms?

I have been searching for the right lip balm for a while; my lips are so dry.  EOS lip balms were my favorite for a while but my lips become dry after 1 to 2 hours of using them, so I decided to make coconut lip balms.

Here is my DIY recipe. You will need:

1.5 Tbsp Organic Coconut Oil, 1.5 Tbsp Organic Beewax, 1 Double Boiler or Microwave Safe Container, 1 Wisk or a Spoon, Empty Lip Balm Containers or top round steel Tins, red clay powder moroccan as natural Colorant (optional), Cooking Gloves.

What to Do?
1. Melt beeswax and coconut butter in a double boiler or in a mason jar in a small saucepan of boiling water. You can also melt the mix in the microwave in 20 second-bursts.

2. Add natural colorant (optional),  I used red clay powder moroccan.

3. When it is melted, remove from heat with cooking gloves. Caution: this can be very hot!

4. Carefully pour the mix into the lip balm containers.

5. Let harden before moving or using.

Enjoy your moisturizing natural lip balms!!

Is  coconut oil and butter good for dry skin? Is it the best oil for natural skin care? What is it all about? I use many different oils and butter for my dry skin and coconut butter and oil work wonders.

Coconut oil and butter are mainly made of fatty acids and triglycerides. Triglycerides are the main components in our body natural oils. Triglycerides and fatty acids are skin softeners; they help the skin barrier by preventing excess moisture loss.

Coconut oil is also rich in proteins; it regenerates and restores the skin. It contains vitamin E, which promotes healthy skin growth, skin repairs, and is anti-bacterial according to Organic Facts.

It is important to not apply too much coconut oil on your skin. I read articles about some people stopped using coconut oil. I think it is important to understand how natural and organic ingredients work. Coconut oil and butter quickly saturate the skin; this is one of the reason they are so efficient. Do not use too much coconut butter, according to organic facts the skin can only absorb a certain amount of oil.  When we use too much coconut oil, the skin does not absorb it any more and your skin will feel greasy.
I use unrefined organic coconut butter and virgin oil. Below are the best unrefined coconut oils I found:

In this post, I go over ingredients that are best suited to deal with each skin type issues.   Some plant extracts that are great for oily skin might be too harsh on sensitive and/or dry skin. What natural ingredients are best suited to fight acne, brightening the skin, and soothing irritated skin.

For sensitive skin, calendula and aloe vera reduce inflammation, soothe the skin, and support burn healing process.
For dry skin, look for hemp oil, shea butter, and lavender essential oils in your natural and organic skin care products. These ingredients deeply moisturize skin and quench dry skin.
For acne-prone skin and oily skin,  thyme  and tea tree oil have antiseptic and antibacterial properties to help clear pimples and help manage sebum production.
